Job Description / Requirements
General Duties :
To plan, organizeand implement aneffective Teaching / Learning Environment that is conducive to achieving thehighest educational standards, and that guides andencourages pupils to develop and fulfil their academic potential. These goals shouldbe achieved in keeping with the core values, vision and mission statement ofthe school; and safeguard the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing ofall pupils. The teacher will be required to implement school policy with regardto all aspects of the Teaching / Learning Environment; enforce the school’s Codeof Discipline; and comply with Staff Conditions of Service as may be in forcefrom time to time.

The teacher is expected to :
Createa pleasant, stimulating, varied and well planned teaching / learning environment.Demonstrateprofessional competence in respect of knowledge and understanding of the subjectareaEnsuringa thorough and up-to-date knowledge of teaching of his / her subject and to takeaccount of wider curriculum developments relevant to his / her work; todemonstrate detailed knowledge of teaching syllabusDemonstrategood and improving standards in day-to-day teaching utilizing information andaids available.Takeresponsibility for self-improvement and professional development; and take fulladvantage of all in-service training made available.Acceptthe school’s supervision and evaluation in regard to his / her workDemonstrate preparation andskill in working with pupils from diverse cultural, economic and abilitybackgrounds.Respectthe laws, moral standards and customs of GhanaNotengage in any activity or conduct that is not compatible with his / heremployment with the schoolPlanning
The teacher isexpected to :
Produceschemes of work, lesson plans, worksheets, teaching units, and tests asprescribed by management.Plan, prepare and deliverlesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learningDemonstrateconsistent and effective performance in planning, teaching and classroommanagement.Consistentlyand effectively plan lessons and sequences of lessons to meet pupils short,medium and longer term learning needs and achieve progression in pupilslearning.Setclear teaching objectives and targets of achievement which are to becommunicated to pupils; set activities which match these objectives.Providetargeted support for pupils with particular learning needs / difficultiesInstruct and monitor pupilsin the use of learning materials and equipment.Use relevant technology tosupport and differentiate instruction.Createappropriate high quality teaching aids to promote learningManage pupil behavior inthe classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.Maintain discipline inaccordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the schoolSettasks for the whole class, individual and group work, including homework, whichchallenges pupils and ensures high levels of pupil interest; engage andmotivate pupils.Interactwith other teachers in year groups above and below in the interest of progressand continuity in teaching and learning.Assessment / Evaluation
Teacheris expected to :
Provide appropriatefeedback on work; and assign and grade class work, homework, tests andassignments.Encourage and monitor theprogress of individual pupils, maintain accurate and complete records ofpupils' progress and development and use information to adjust teachingstrategies; and inplanning future lessons and sequences of lessons.Regularlyset assessment activities in line with teaching objectives and evaluate thescheme through regular, thorough, and diagnostic marking of pupil work.Keepup-to-date record on pupil’s progress, assessment tests, examinations, andproject work; showing prior attainment and progress achieved.Monitorprogress of pupils to give clear and constrictive feedback and recommendationsand provide remedial assistance where necessary.Workindividually and with management, supervisors and other staff members toactively and positively improve the quality of pupils learning.Social Media

Teacher,as directed, is expected to :
