Job Summary
The Community of Practice Coordinator will work on establishing and facilitating a Community of Practice with the goal of increasing collaboration among stakeholders In the Low-Cost Private School Sector. The role will be responsible for driving the three phases of the project including the inquiry phase, design phases, and the membership and launch phase. Post set-up, the role along with member leadership and support, will be responsible for ongoing coordination and facilitation of all Community of Practice activities established during the Design Phase.

Job Description / Requirements
Responsibilities : Inquiry Phase
Coordinate 2-3 Focus Group Discussions with selected school leaders to gather information and inquire about the value added by the Community of Practice.Synthesize findings outlining the recommended value for a Community of Practice.Prepare and submit report brief to USAID for review.Design Phase
Compose the Community of Practice Overview / Brochure, defining overall objective, goals, and target membership.Draft Roadmap Implementation Deck including the Community of Practice Theory of Change, membership types, recruitment strategies, and growth plans, Knowledge Development plan, Communications Strategy, and the Workplan.Prepare and Submit Roadmap to USAID for reviewMembership and Launch Phase
Finalize date, agenda, venue & logistics for the launch event.Manage invitations to potential attendees.Facilitate launch event, which includes delivering a presentation and engaging with attendees to sign up to be Community of Practice Members.Collect membership forms and create / maintain the membership database.Ongoing Coordination of Community of Practice
Implement workplan activities, with the support of the Membership and Communications Manager.Contribute ideas for further membership activities, problem-solve challenges, and modify the work plan, as neededServe as a main point of contact with the Community of Practice members.Qualification :
Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, finance, international development, or another relevant discipline.Experience launching and / or supporting a Community of Practice required, or similar relevant experience with large-scale community initiatives (e.g., building an online community forum, creating communications campaigns).Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders.Proven experience developing and executing a communications strategy, including a content management plan, editorial calendar, communications calendar, and event strategy plan.Demonstrated ability to coordinate and implement virtual and in-person events.Strong analytical and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web- based research).Ability to present findings or translate data into a coherent visual representation.Understanding of the global education sector and / or international development; previous experience working in low-income countries preferred.An understanding of and a commitment to advancing the mission and core values of Opportunity International.Language Skills :
Written and verbal fluency in English, additional 1 or 2 local languages required. Must be able to attend & fully participate in meetings conducted in English.Travel Requirements :
Domestic travel throughout Ghana will be required, including road travel throughout Northern Ghana.It is possible that international travel will be required from time to time (no more than 10%)About Opportunity International :

Project Background :
The activity has been formulated in response to the Government of Ghana’s commitment to the Global Goals for Education. The 5-year activity will enable school proprietors, teachers, communities, financial organizations, professional networks, and the Government of Ghana (GoG) to improve student learning outcomes and financing options for low-cost private schools. The activity is focused on select low-cost private schools in the USAID GlobalFood Security Strategy (GFSS) Zone of Influence (ZOI) in northern Ghana.
