POSITION INFO :

Head of Business Development – Africa

🌍 Location : Flexible within Africa (Zimbabwe, Zambia, Rwanda, and Ghana, with a preference to South Africa)

The Role :

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Business Development to lead and expand our commercial presence across key African markets. This role will be responsible for overseeing regional Business Development Managers in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Rwanda, and Ghana , and for driving revenue growth through high-impact partnerships and solution-focused sales.

🌐 Key Focus Areas :

  • Lead, coach, and coordinate a team of Business Development Managers across multiple African countries
  • Develop and implement a pan-African growth strategy aligned with the company’s market vision and product roadmap
  • Cultivate strong client relationships across , fintech, and telcom sectors
  • Identify new business opportunities and strategic partnerships to expand the company’s footprint and payment solutions partnerships
  • Represent the organisation in senior-level discussions with clients and partners
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Product, Technology, and Executive teams
  • Monitor market trends and provide strategic commercial insights

🎯 What We’re Looking For :

  • 8+ years’ experience in business development, sales leadership, or strategic partnerships in the fintech, payments, banking, or tech sectors
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-country commercial teams in Africa
  • In-depth understanding of payment technology and digital financial services in emerging markets
  • Strong communication, negotiation, business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required
